Flowserve Corporation Project Engineer in Lawrence, Massachusetts

The Project Engineer will be responsible for reviewing customer orders, associated specifications, bid packages and other correspondence and determining that the selected equipment will satisfy all customer requirements. The Project Engineer will extract all customer requirements and incorporate them into technical descriptions, purchasing data, drawing markups, bills of materials and other working instructions for designers, purchasing, manufacturing and others. The Project Engineer will also assure that all customer required drawings and other documents are created, submitted and approved by the customer.
Primary responsibilities include but not limited to:
Work directly with a Product Engineer to process pump jobs.
Reconcile the Lawrence proposal with the customer’s purchase order, specifications, and requirements.
Compile design information, complete design worksheets and provide instructions to designers.
Review and approve drawings.
Perform calculations and work with other engineers to assure that all required mechanical and hydraulic calculations and reviews are completed and documented.
Write procurement specifications for select major buy out items.
Early release of long lead items to purchasing.
Create bills of materials and technical descriptions for all pump parts.
Participate in the evaluation and approval of performance test results.
Review the work of designers for quality, technical judgment, soundness of decisions and compliance with specifications.
Coordinate and manage related ECO's, rework, etc.
Review and approve vendor drawings and documents.
Generate customer required documents, submit them to the Project Manager for transmittal to the customer and reconcile customer comments.
Assist the Commercial Operations Team with customer specification reviews for bids as needed.

Hydraulic Institute Standards
Experience with NX is a plus
Experience with chemical plants or oil refineries is a plus.
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
2-3 years of experience in rotating equipment or other heavy industrial equipment
3D CAD Experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software
