Position Description:

Basic Function

The Sales and Marketing Insights manager, in coordination with Sales, Sales Operations and Marketing Communications is responsible for the development and alignment of:

  • Buyers’ Journey maps

  • Sales Enablement opportunities, providing sales personnel with what they need to successfully engage the buyer throughout the Buyer’s Journey

  • Methods and systems to capture Challenger commercial insights and messaging

This role will work closely with other stakeholders in Sales and SalesOps to assist with systematic organization and accessibility of materials, as well as driving alignment across the suite of other current and expected Sales Enablement tools. In support of the Challenger sales initiative, the focus will be on the coordination, accessibility, and logistics of Flowserve commercial insights and messaging via systems and software like CRM, Lead Generation, application playbooks, and VirtualPlant. This position will report to the Marketing Manager, Sales Enablement & Marketing Assets.

  • With Sales Operations, Sales and Marketing Communications, coordinate development and communication of the Buyers’ Journey maps

  • Expand the Buyers’ Journeys with the ability to understand the customer’s personas

  • Maintain the “pulse” of Flowserve customers, updating the Buyer’s Journey as necessary

  • Provide effective insight and messaging that aligns with objectives, goals and business decisions

  • Develop and design means to capture and effectively make the Challenger messaging available to the global sales teams

  • Update and keep current the Challenger commercial insights and messaging within the Application Selling Guides and VirtualPlant environments

  • Work closely with Marketing Communications to align Challenger commercial insights with external messaging on www.flowserve.com

  • Create an interactive system that works seamlessly in conjunction with the CRM, SalesEdge, Virtual Plant

  • Implement processes, procedures and governance policies to ensure Challenger messaging maintenance and integrity

  • Continually interact with key Regional Sales Leaders, Sales Operations, and Sales Engineers to ensure ongoing alignment and prioritization of Sales Enablement activities

  • Analyze and package quantitative and qualitative information for communication across the organization

Position Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • 5 – 10 years’ experience in the flow control industry

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, business, marketing, statistics or related discipline required

  • Master’s degree/MBA preferred

  • 6 to 12 years of sales and/or marketing experience preferred

  • Five to 10 years of content and collateral development and management preferred

  • Strong background in sales support, lead development and/or sales support

  • Previous sales enablement and/or channel marketing experience a plus

Required Skills

  • Able to take commercial insights and weave them into critical B2B sales/marketing/product deliverables (e.g. Challenger messaging)

  • Selection and management of Sales generated messaging and the creation of a sustainable Challenger message

  • Highly engaged with Sales, Sales Operations and Sales Management

  • Strong communicator, especially in written form

  • Can work across business units to connect with sales resources, marketing, buyers and channel partners

Desired Skills

  • Familiarity with communication channels and interactive media

  • Experience with written and digital communication methods

  • Experience with statistical/analytics of communication metrics

  • Knowledge of Flowserve target market segments

  • Background in creating customer personas and applying them within the business

  • Knowledge of Flowserve’s competitive tools and the ability to leverage them
