Position Description:

The Director – Global Credit and Collections position reports to the VP, Investor Relations & Treasurer. This position will manage strategies, operations, personnel and policies related to the extension of customer credit worldwide, and serve as the focal point for Flowserve’s collection efforts.

Credit Accountabilities

• Responsible for developing and directing the shared credit service provided by Flowserve Global Credit Center (FGCC) on a global basis (managing Americas, EMA and Asia personnel/activities)

• Aligning all regions so that the same credit processes are adopted globally

• Oversee and supervise credit personnel in the UK, and Irving and Bethlehem, USA; while either maintaining dotted line oversight for all remaining credit activities globally or restructuring the reporting relationships

• Oversee the implementation of a global credit platform/database to ensure a consistent methodology and approach is utilized worldwide

• Ensure proper execution of global credit policies and procedures; and be highly involved in the Sales Approval Process (SAP)

• Drive work streams related to the ongoing enhancement of the FGCC

• Oversee customer master data globally

• Consolidate regional information to monitor global exposure

Collection Accountabilities

• Working in close coordination with the Order-to-Cash Process owner and as the Hungary shared services’ primary customer related to collections - develop, maintain and improve global collection processes, systems, policies, data and workflows to increase performance on a global basis.

• Take personal ownership/accountability in reducing Flowserve’s DSO’s and past due A/R as progress/improvement will represent the key performance metric of this role

• Analyze problematic collection areas to better understand flaws/failures and pursue solutions

• Identify under-performing collection areas/sites and implement corrective actions

• Develop collection strategies to allow for timely milestone payments

• Provide shared service center with a clear escalation process and continually evaluate the center’s performance, KPIs

• Take global lead on continuous improvement of collection processes

• Educate stakeholders on the impact and cost of late payment

Position Requirements:


· Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Finance, economics or related field

· Minimum of 8 years of experience in credit and collections

· Member of Institute of Credit Management (ICM) preferred

· Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

· Willingness to actively challenge the status quo

· Ability to bring different functions to the table to drive DSO improvement

· Extensive international trade experience

· Good working knowledge of terms and conditions and related commercial issues

· Extensive knowledge of financial instruments such as bank guarantees and letters of credit

· Ability to build solid relationships with the business units, functional areas and customers to ensure an effective dialogue on complicated issues

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

· Ability to prioritize departmental workload in support of published service levels

· Willingness to travel as needed (up to 40%) to address personnel, systems, processes, etc.

· Experience leading team members performing disparate responsibilities and activities while maintaining a solid level of engagement

· Ability to effectively manage credit employees who reside across the world

· High level of creative problem solving and effectively leading changes in processes and methodologies

· Create structured solutions to ambiguous problems in a dynamic environment

· Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), BPC, BI and a working knowledge of various financial systems (Bloomberg, ThomsonOne, Hyperion, etc.)
