Position Requirements:

· Candidates should be a sophomore, junior or senior year student in the College of Engineering, preferably mechanical, chemical or electrical engineering, with an interest in Application Engineering and live within commuting distance to the Houston, Texas office to be able to work part-time while attending school.

· They should possess strong written and verbal communication skills, be able to manage their time efficiently and work well both individually and in a team environment.

· Must be self-motivated and able to produce measurable results.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, team orientated, and Continuous Improvement environment

· Intermediate to advanced Microsoft skills required. Programming and data analysis skills will be considered a plus.

· Coursework in materials, strength of materials and fluid mechanics is desired.

Position Description:

Flowserve’s Houston, Texas Commercial Operations team is seeking a winter 2018/ spring 2019 internship to provide support in a designated work area. Candidates should be a junior or senior year student in the College of Engineering with an interest in Application Engineering. Prefer interns to be able to work 15-25 hours per week during the semester, and 40 hours per week during spring or summer if mutually agreed upon.

Intern duties may include, but are not limited to, collaborating with Engineering, Operations and other functional areas to support Commercial Operations through process improvement projects, along with learning the process of front end sales engineering & commercial operations.

The Commercial Operations team within Flowserve is responsible for reviewing customer request for quotation’s (RFQ’s) and preparing detailed proposals in response. Intern should be willing to learn company’s products such as valves, actuators and electrical/electronic control accessories as well their applications in oil & gas, chemical, refining and power industries etc.
